Thank you very much for reporting this.
It is in fact a bug that sometimes marks the wrong block as non-scraped
when running in reverse direction. '--retrim' makes it more likely to
happen. (Ddrescue must not change the status of finished blocks in the
mapfile under any circumstance).
I have hopefully fixed the bug in ddrescue-1.23-rc2, which you may find at
