[Bug-ddrescue] ddrescue speed

Hi


GNU ddrescue 1.24

When copying files from a damaged disk to a new one , on a Mac with Sierra , 
both disks connected to USB i have an average speed of 8000 B/s

if i open Disk Utility it increases the speed to 5000 KB/s

Then after a few seconds it goes down again. 
If i close and reopen DU it happens again


why ?
