Hi!
I have problems with gdb 6.2.1 running SuSE 9.1
(always up-to-date using apt, there it is 6.2.1-0.gbv.2, stable).
Whenever I try to debug a program, the following messages appear:
(gdb) run
Starting program: /bin/ls
(no debugging symbols found)...[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
warning: Unable to set global thread event mask: generic error
Error while reading shared library symbols:
Cannot find new threads: generic error
The example shows /bin/ls, but it is the same with every binary
I try. GDB freezes then and has to be killed to get back to the
shell.
I tried to get another version of gdb (6.1-1, stable), but with
the same results. Therefore it might not be gdb itself, but
another lib or so that induces that behaviour.
At the moment I do not have any clue where to look and would appreciate
any help!
Thanx
Thies
