Follow-up Comment #3, bug #48481 (project gettext):
Yes, that's what I understand from your code, and I wonder if it is a
reasonable behaviour; shouldn't it signal an error or stop processing when it
sees a '@' twice?
By the way, I think there should be a reliable conversion between CLDR locale
names and gettext locale names.
