You don't need to be sorry about that. As a reporter, you have no good way
to see whether a certain problem has already been reported: you can't sift
through several years of mailing list archives.
So: after testing whether a certain problem is still present in the newest
release, better report the problem, and let the maintainer deal with the
duplicates.
