If authors feel it's a raw deal, then they probably shouldn't release their stuff under the FDL! The FDL provides this freedom, whether you like it or not. It may not be Nupedia that starts selling out the authors, but that doesn't stop _anyone_ else from doing it.
I see your point. I am assuming however that the FDL does provide for permanent credit to the author, as in credit for writing the article?
