In GNU Emacs 20.4.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit)
of Fri Oct 29 1999 on tfkp02
configured using `configure --prefix=/nfs/common --libexecdir=/nfs/common/lib
--bindir=/nfs/common/lib/emacs/bin/i686-Linux --with-gcc --with-pop --with-x
--with-x-toolkit=athena'
When I want to open a file using find-file and I need to find the
directory I type TAB in the minibuffer which will open a buffer with
possible completions. In this completion buffer I might see the
directory listed where my file is. The completion buffer says
Click mouse-2 on a completion to select it.
But if I use mouse-2 to select the directory where I will find my
file, find-file opens a dired buffer of this directory. Wouldn't it
be much nicer if find-file recognized that the directory I've
selected is just part of what I want?
(I like long directory names which explain what is in them. But
typing these long names each and every time can be painful.)
