In GNU Emacs 20.7.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit)
of Sat Jul 22 2000 on a77
The C++ mode recognizes /*/ as a terminated comment, which is wrong.
Emacs will highlight the keywords in the following comment and be very confused:
/*/ switch if for do while { */
GCC does NOT recognize /*/ as a terminated comment.
