please note, that you can disable changing the pointer shape right now
with Emacs 21.1:
display-hourglass's value is t
Documentation:
*Non-nil means show an hourglass pointer when running under a window system.
Or do you want more than that (I'm not writing about disabling highlighting
now, only about pointer shape)?
