Is your Vista 32 or 64 bits and have you downloaded pspp from which site?

PSPP 0.6.1 is known to have problem with non-ascii chars. Could you please
try to save the file on c:\test.sav ?

PSPP 0.6.1 also tries to save the output files on current folder. So
if you are running it
from c:\program files\pspp\bin and you are not administrator, crashes
like this can happens.
You can try to create a shortcut on desktop, and run it from there.
