Hi Elizabeth,

There are two seperate links to pre-built Mac binaries on the web site
http://www.gnu.org/software/pspp/get.html
I haven't tried them myself, because a I don't use Mac.

The install instructions should be very straightforward (at least from the 
perspective of someone at the level of writing an academic thesis).  Also, 
there should be nothing in them specific to Linux.

Can you please tell us which parts you find unclear, and we will try to fix 
that.
