PSPP-BUG: importing .cvs and .txt files

MacBook Pro, Mac OS 10.7.5, PSPP 0.8.2. rev 0 MD5

When I import from a .cvs (or .txt) file made in Excel, PSPP tells me that 
there is one line of text only, despite the fact that there are many.  I am 
unable to "select" the first line - all the lines are highlighted.  All data - 
string or numeric - appear as variables of a single "case".  

Also, the copy and paste functions do not work.

Please advise.
