Hi Thomas,
Do you know which X server you’re running? This would be included in X11.bin’s
crash log, inside ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter. If you’re running the
Apple-provided X11 server it should look like this in the log:
X.Org X Server 1.4.2-apple33 Build Date: 20090617
If this is the case, likely a newer X server is needed. I’m building the one in
MacPorts to see if it resolves the crash. Likely, the current graphics
libraries are no longer compatible with the old X server and since Apple no
longer supports 10.5’s X11 we get to install a different X server.
Please write back letting us know which X server did crash, and I’ll followup
if the newer X server fixes the crash.
PS: You’ve installed PSPP from both MacPorts and my site. My installers go into
/opt/pspp while MacPorts installs to /opt/local. You’ll want to make sure you
keep them both updated and know which one you’re running, or remove one.
