PSPP-BUG: Old sav files pt.2: pspp exports wrong value labels |

Hello again,
I found another problem with pspp handling really old files.
In some of the datasets I handle,
there are different entries given for the old, short value-label entry
and the new, longer one.
In this Study (ZA2392_AllgemeinerTeil.sav)
the value labels for the Variables with index 34, 54, 64 and 128 contain values
in both the old and new value label.
PSPP finds this and warns about it, so generally that's handled well already.
But: The interesting bit is the variable at index 128,
there the values actually differ:
888 'missing' (in what seems to be the old version)
888 'Wohnort unbekannt' (in the new version)
PSPP chooses to display 'missing' out of these two options,
SPSS chooses 'Wohnort unbekannt'.
Which ought to be the more recent entry and thus preferred.
The dataset can be obtained here:
https://dbk.gesis.org/dbksearch/download.asp?db=E&id=40532
(Sorry, access needs registration, I cannot distribute it freely.
The TOS are harmless, but disallow any redistribution.)
If you want this filed in bugzilla, please drop me a note.
Thanks,
Andre
