URL: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?41863> Summary: "Only" the first 255 of 256 characters of a variable label are read by pspp Project: PSPP Submitted by: andrem Submitted on: Thu 13 Mar 2014 05:22:02 PM GMT Category: System/Portable File I/O Severity: 5 - Average Status: None Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: None Effort: 0.00 _______________________________________________________ Details: PSPP only reads 255 characters of a variable label from sav files. The label can be up to 256 characters long. So, this smells like an off by one error. I found half a dozen instances of this, so this behaviour looks consistent at a glance. The character misses both looking at the entry in the psppire gui and the "DISPLAY DICTIONARY" output. An example dataset is here (needs registration): https://dbk.gesis.org/dbksearch/download.asp?db=D&id=36757 The entry maxing out is in variable d4a (index 65). _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?41863> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
