There are a number of ways to test for normality.   

For example EXAMINE can produce NP plots, and histograms with the normal curve 
superimposed.  It also gives figures for the skewness and kurtosis (and their
standard errors).  Or you could use the one sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test 
available in the NPAR TESTS procedure.

     I don't know whether this is a bug or
     feature but the results come to only two decimal places.  In the GUI
     version there is no way of changing this.  So is p=0.00 p=0.001, no
     way of telling?  

You can change this by executing a command like: SET FORMAT='F12.3'. 
This will cause values to be displayed to 3 decimal places.

We are planning to add a feature to allow the decimal places of 
p-values to be set explicitly.
