Details:

1. Open the Gui.

2. Import the attached gnumeric file using the command:
 
   GET DATA
  /TYPE=GNM
  /FILE="xx.gnumeric"
  /SHEET=index 1
  /READNAMES=ON
  /CELLRANGE=RANGE "A1:B51".

  The second variable will (correctly) be of type string.


3. In the variable sheet, change the variable to type Numeric.
   The program crashes.
