Details:
I tried and failed to compile PSPP for CentOS 6.6 x86_64. I think I have found
the problem, and thought I'd pass it along since it's not covered in the
INSTALL doc.
No dependence on glib2 seems to be listed in INSTALL, but after a
mostly-successful compile I got link errors like
/usr/local/pspp-0.8.4/src/ui/gui/psppire-means-layer.c:152: undefined
reference to `g_ptr_array_new_full'
This looks to be because g_ptr_array_new_full appeared in glib2 v. 2.30 and in
CentOS 6.6 I have v. 2.28 (also appearing in error output:
g_signal_handlers_disconnect_by_data, which appears in v. 2.32).
Also, as a suggestion, it would be helpful if the INSTALL noted that when
installing required packages, installing the "devel" versions should be done
as well.
I think I will try a binary install or a different host OS, so I can't confirm
the resolution of the above.
