Details:

On gtk3 branch on MacOS the output window has some render problems. The
problems disappear after a window resize. The problems are:

  - Content is clipped
  - The bottom content is not or only partly visible. It is not possible to
scroll 
     further down. 

Attached are some example screenshots with window content before and after
window resizing. OSX has gtk version 3.16.3 via macports. 

During debugging of the histogram render problems I noticed that the draw
method of the last bottom window content item is continuously called. After a
window resize this is gone.
