Hi Andre,
i guess this is related to the automatic start of the XServer, even if you have
installed one.

You have to check the
/Library/LaunchAgents/
and you have to make sure that either the XServer form XQuartz or the one
installed via macports is activated via launchctl. This problem is related to
the macports
environment, not psppire. The macports xserver is not installed as an automatic
dependency.
