Subject: | PSPP-BUG: PSPP 1.2 BUG? Extra Variable/Value labels |
Date: | Mon, 25 Mar 2019 19:32:09 +0000 |
Hello PSPP! I am not sure if this is a bug, or if it has been addressed in the past, as I cannot seem to find any mention of it in the bug lists, however… If you take a .sps syntax file, and remove some of the data location variables, PSPP will error out when compiling it, because you have extra variable labels and/or value labels now.
In SPSS, it just gives a warning, but still compiles. I just recently installed PSPP on my linux server as my IT team was tired of waiting until 12am, 1am, 2am to run project data for clients. Now it is all automatic thanks to PSPP on
our linux box running in command line mode. However, we tend to be lazy with the .sps file and just delete the data location variables we do not need to run. The above issue makes it an annoyance at best, as we now have to actually clean up our files! Just curious if there was a work around or something to this error.
