Follow-up Comment #2:
It seems that for some reason, when selecting a new cell, the content (by
default "none") gets placed in the clipboard. I guess we need to investigate
this.
However I don't think there is ever going to be a fast way to do what you want
using any GUI. The GUI is really for doing single, one off tasks.
For a lightning fast way to add value labels to many variables, just use a
line like:
ADD VALUE LABELS /v1 to v500 1 = "yes" 2 = "no".
