Silent install flags are extremely helpful to performing automated installs in
locations such as University computer labs, where it is not feasible to
install the software on each computer individually.
It appears that the installer in the past had a working silent install flag,
as noted here:
https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/pspp-users/2019-02/msg00003.html
However there a now a number of reports of this silent install being broken:
May 2023:
https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/pspp-users/2023-06/msg00000.html
Nov 2023:
https://www.reddit.com/r/pspp/comments/17w3d6b/pspp_silent_install/
May 2024:
https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/pspp-users/2024-05/msg00000.html
Would it make sense to incorporate the helpfully suggest suggested code
change, so that the silent install fix is available for everyone?
