Hi Friedrich,

Thank you for your help. I have attached the .csv file. I attempted to change the variable "Study ID" to a string from the default scientific format. 

I was able to circumvent the issue by changing the IDs from 1-007 format to 1007 (removed the hyphen). Then I was able to change the default numeric variable type to string with no issue.

thanks for the bug report. Can you send a csv file where this bug
occurs together with a description which variable you try to change?
