Hi and Welcome to GnuCOBOL.
the errors that can be seen in the testsuite.log:
+page 3223092: illegal page type or format
+PANIC: Invalid argument
+PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery
are BDB internal errors. It _may_ be possible that you get less of those
with a more recent version of GnuCOBOL but it is unlikely that they will
vanish as those are "external issues".
Things to consider in this case:
* update ReactOS (always good with OS in development)
* use another file system (BDB may has issues with shared/virtualized
file systems)
* update any Cygwin components via cygwin's setup.exe (especially BDB)
* possibly: build BDB on your Cygwin environment from source (I guess
its testsuite will already tell you that this won't work)
I _guess_ you do know that GnuCOBOL would also (and likely better) work
in your host OS than in your specific guest OS (for "testing purposes"
you don't need to run `make install` but can use it from within the
build-tree).
In any case: GnuCOBOL 3.0 did never got a release, I suggest to use the
stable gnucobol-3.1-dev version (still a little bit "in flow"), you can
find the deep URL to the latest tarball from
https://sourceforge.net/projects/open-cobol/files/gnu-cobol/nightly_snapshots/README.md/view
or use the "clickable" links in the rendered version at:
