No, because we want __USE_GNU defined when !_LIBC & when not compiling
under glibc, in order to make sure we export all the available
functions. There are many platforms where it is extremely unlikely that
we will find a header that understands that the _GNU_SOURCE defined by
the extensions module means that __USE_GNU should be defined, unless we
provide it ourselves.

I've fixed this, but I would note that it is not consistent with the
previous glibc version. From my previous diff against the glibc 2.3.5
version:
#if !defined _LIBC || !defined GLOB_ONLY_P
[...]
-#endif /* !GLOB_ONLY_P */
+#endif /* !_LIBC || !GLOB_ONLY_P */
This is true in both the locations I've updated.

Fixed.
I also removed the explicit check for <gnu-versions.h> in glob.m4 since
it will be caught by the compile check which includes it, similar to the
change you recommended in our discussion of the "minmax.h" changes:

Full patches attached. I will hopefully know tomorrow how these changes
fare on the platforms I mentioned in my earlier mail. I have two 2.4.x
flavors of Linux and a NetBSD 1.6.1 CVS compiling and passing with
yesterday's version of this module installed, here.
