I agree. This is a longstanding problem with DEC/Compaq/HP C. It's
case 3411658RE in their bug database. In 2003 HP engineers refused to
fix the bug in their compiler; for some details about this, please see
<http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-bison/2003-04/msg00049.html>.
Gnulib is supposed to work around the bug in the HP compiler; if it
doesn't, we'd like to know why.
