After Mac OS 9 (note spaces) came Mac OS X, where the X is a roman numeral,
pronounced `ten'. Although it is common to see, e.g. Mac OS X 10.5 in
writing, it's redundant and technically incorrect. Better to either drop
the X, or the version number, or use the cat name, e.g.:
Mac OS 10.5
Mac OS X version 10.5
Mac OS X Leopard
Mac OS Leopard
Otherwise when I'm reading Mac OS X 10.5, I read "Mac OS ten ten point five" :(
Irrespective of that, outside of Apple, you see the incorrect spacing and
doubling
of `ten' frequently, so no one will misunderstand those mis-spellings :)
