I am in the process of setting this up at the moment to experiment. I
figured that I should mention, in case anyone else follows this guide,
that the "Eclipse Installer" package listed at the top of the page
under "Try the Eclipse Installer".
It is essentially a small program that leads you to a similar page
where you choose the build. However, it installs *.desktop files for
Gnome, KDE, whatever desktop environment you use.
I didn't see them in the other tarball I downloaded, and I am too lazy
to write them myself. :)
The rest of the process would be the same from there.
