"Non-regular developers" — that sounds like people who would not know
what to do or where to report, if they encounter breakage. Therefore they
should better wait until we officially "release" the new Python-based
gnulib-tool. They have waited for it for 12 years; they can afford waiting
1 or 2 more months.

I wouldn't burden my continuous integrations builds with that, because
*debugging* failures in continuous integration builds is overly time-
consuming. But if you want to do it, go ahead. You have all you need:
you can simply set the environment variable.

No, not today. Better wait until Collin and I tell you that it's ready
for consumption.

There really is no point in having you or anyone else run into trouble,
as long as we know that our (not very large) test suite does not pass.
