windows 2000 fails to shutdown when booted via grub |

I have a dual-os machine, with win 2000 and red hat linux 7.2.
Just after installing linux, I noticed windows 2000 doesn't shutdown
properly anymore. Instead, it shows a nice screen telling me it's safe
to turn my computer off.
Grub does boot win2k and linux correctly for me.
I know my machine has an acpi, but win2k refuses to use it, so poweroff is
done via apm (I am sure of this). Maybe grub is touching apm in a way
win2k doesn't like?
I'm using win2k service pack 2 and red hat linux 7.2, which ships grub
0.90-11. I upgraded the grub package to 0.90-13 (which, according to the
ChangeLog, was last modified on October 31), but no success.
Also, I tried to boot win2k using lilo, and it shuts the poewr off
correctly. So, as far as I can see, this must be a grub issue.
And that's all. Tell me if you need more details.
