Follow-up Comment #1, bug #29945 (project grub):
This would require TuxOnIce to maintain a stable image format and communicate
us the expected behaviour. In many cases doing resume in bootloader is easier
than in kernel itself. xnu uses this way. But it often happens that bootloader
doesn't use the faster available method to read from disk so in some cases it
may result in slower boot
