Follow-up Comment #4, bug #31425 (project grub):
Had to use debian install, rescue CD ;-( and that brought all back to life.
Same problem obviously. WIll be manually editing the grub.cfg to remove the
/boot pre-fixes. I can help and give more information but as you see I have no
idea why my build failed to boot.
