Details:

Using this in grub.cfg :-

legacy_source /boot/grub/menu.lst
set color_normal=white/black

with this in menu.lst :-

timeout 10
color black/cyan yellow/cyan
gfxmenu (hd0,20)/boot/gfxmenu
default 0

The grub2 menu is displayed in black/cyan
