Follow-up Comment #6, bug #39682 (project grub):
I think so... here is what I did:
1) I used the distro's PKGBUILD[1] and substituted the commit you created
(_GRUB_GIT_COMMIT="e89c2d48a991590c18c28ac867ccda67d4425187") for the current
version in the PKGBUILD
(_GRUB_GIT_COMMIT="bca274b45597725f21f77a773087b62a2922eb2b").
2) Build and installed the package.
3) Mount /boot/efi
4) grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi
--bootloader-id=arch --recheck --debug
5) grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
