I have noticed a few anomalies in a few special funtions of GSL:
Thanks for the bug reports. I have fixed the problem with zetam1 and added new cases to the test suite for the others - they are now in the CVS repository at http://sources.redhat.com/gsl/devel.html. For the hypergeometric function 1F1 I used arguments (1.0, 1000000.5, 1001000.5) to reproduce the problem with large2bm4a.
