If you are talking about the "hurd-does-not-boot-with-new-glibc" thing, then
I found the real reason two days ago. It is my cross compilation
environment that is broken. We are linking with linux startup files (crt0.o
etc), which puts a wrong ABI note in the binary. The new glibc is more
picky about that.
You didn't saw it before because you were running a Hurd compiled by
yourself natively, or in a sane cross compilation environment.
