What part of the description is not clear? Beside ncursesw there needs to
be a new console client driver for ncurses (without the w) that does not
rely on the unicode features of ncursesw but does its own conversion.
At least this is what I remember would be necessary to make output on
non-unicode terminals correct for the character set available on such
terminals. ncursesw does not do its own conversion if required.
