Be made aware that -- while it is possible, of course -- this is not
trivial to do. You'll have to patch several of the source packages. See
the corresponding Debian source packages about which Hurd-specific
patches exist and are not yet in the upstream source packages. Not all
of the patches from the Debian packages are needed for getting a
functional tool chain, but I can't make a list at the moment.

and refer to the shell script mentioned in there.

See the shell script mentioned above. It contains a number of comments,
but may also be not completely up-to-date anymore. So, please report
