What Samuel said. Additionally: in the Hurd repository there is an old
benchmark for measuring fork performance: benchmarks/forks.c. This
operates on a much more high-level interface, of course.
Having results from such benchmarking and profiling topics would be
really helpful.
Throwing in a random idea: how difficult do people estimate it to be to
port the oprofile framework, for example?
