I've been using GNU/Hurd with qemu-kvm for a while, compiled lots of
stuff and ran many other applications, and never experienced disk
corruptions or anything like that. Only crashes I've ever had were due
to pager errors, but I believe that's because memory+swap get full after
some time, which causes crashes.
And I can confirm it's quite fast. Makes hacking nice.
