Indeed. I was building my first live cd back then. It used quite a
lot of firmlinks to overcome the limitations of a read-only root
filesystem iirc. I'm very excited to have come full circle by now
with my new live cd effort, and that the new one is much cleaner.

I thought we have commit-hurd@ for that? Otoh looking at its archive,
