That’s not quite true. It’s important to differentiate “true” 32-bit
mode from compatibility mode. The former is what’s being ditched, but
the latter is what is used when running 32-bit binaries on top of a
64-bit OS. So your 32-bit binaries aren’t going anywhere, just your
32-bit OSes, firmware, etc.
