Ouch. This is why I like Linux version numbering.
Also, it would be nice to make gettext print out big warning messages.
FWICT, all the main distributions have 0.10.35. Even Debian/Potato
has it!!!
So, is 0.10.38 "more alpha" than 0.10.35? Should the distro's
downgrade? Or, is 0.10.38 just a bug-fixed version of 0.10.35,
and thus everyone should be using 0.10.38?

Yes, I did.
I just found the problem... I needed the new config.{guess,sub}
from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/config
Is there any way you can make the failure a bit more helpful,
other than there being no po/Makefile?
