Yeah, I should do that... one problem is making a good indicator.  I guess
it doesn't need to be very good... as long as you can see it's still
moving!

Nope!  2.3gb / 23 min = 0.1 gb / min == 100 mb / min, or about 1.5 mb / s.

Remember, copies are long for ext2, because it isn't smart enough to ignore
free-space (yet).
