Notice that with a 2.6 kernel, the info provided by parted 1.6.11 is probably
fully bogus, and there was a large thread about this, which lead to many code
change in later versions of parted.
I understand also that geometry information on scsi disks and on any recent
disks for that matter is not used, only emulated by some should-be-obsolete
bioses :)
