Resizing in Redhat/Fedora bugged for last two years with Parted

I recently stumbled upon a problem that i cannot resize my 
partitiontables, i did some searching and i found out that the problem 
has been submitted into Redhat's  bugzilla allmost 2 years ago.   The 
report is here:

you can see that the problem is reported on Redhat 9. I recently 
installed Redhat AS 3.0 and problem is there too.

Its quite hard to imagine that this bug has been going on for 2 years 
and there's no  fix OR that fix aint incorporated into redhat. 

Im cross-posting this just to raise the topic back again to the table. I 
know it aint a major problem but atleast for me its annoying that the 
program is lagging on its fixes for 2 years and redhat still keeps 
shipping this software. Anyone even thinking of fixing this bug ?
