Parted v1.6.3

Hey,

I'm currently trying to resize my Redhat Linux ES 3 ext3 partitions using 
parted version 1.6.3 and am running into a problem.  The error I'm getting 
basically states "This ext2 filesystem has a rather strange layout!  Parted 
can't resize this (yet)".  I tried clearing the ext3 journal and resizing the 
partitions but the same error was displayed.  Also, the partitions I'm trying 
to resize comprise a RAID 1 array.  Does parted support hardware RAID 1?  If 
so, what other methods do you suggest for resizing partitions while using 
parted?  Are there other Redhat Linux utilities available that can resize 
partitions?  Please get back to me as soon as possible, for this is an urgent 
issue.  Thanks in advance for your help!
