Well, that is not orthogonal for most GNU projects.  Rather, the fact
that the original authors did not assign copyright is fairly orthogonal
to whether new development happens with assigned copyright or not.
But hey, I'm not the FSF and it's them who have an interest in this
question.  I'm merely observing, and wondering why they didn't ask you
to assign copyright.  Oh well.

I don't think Autotest is called for here; just 'TESTS = ...' for the
Automake test driver should be sufficient.
