Hi there,
I found myself looking for a small utility joining path
components into a filename (adding slashes where appropriate, of
course), but I didn't find anything. So I wrote `pathjoin' and
included it into sh-utils. I tried to observe and respect GNU coding
standards and integrate it into the package as much as possible (being
italian, I have also added its messages in po/it.po).
The patch against sh-utils-2.0 is enclosed as an attachment.
Please let me know if you find this useful or not.
Cheers,
Marco
P.S. While I am at it, I'd like to mention that there was a small typo
in the po/it.po file: in line 473 backslash has been erroneously
translated to backspace.
P.P.S. If you are wondering what `pathjoin' is good for, I can tell that
I'd like to have it available for $(shell ...) in Makefiles...
